Bravo &#8220;sat in on almost all of the meetings involving the operations against bin Laden,&#8221; Panetta told the National Press Club.<\/em><\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/r.smartbrief.com\/resp\/edfICertqOCfmzlfCidncUCicNcRgW?format=standard\" target=\"_blank\">The Atlantic Wire<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Defense Secretary Leon Panetta owns a golden retriever \u2014 code name: Bravo; real name: Bravo \u2014 who, besides <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esquire.com\/features\/what-ive-learned\/meaning-of-life-2013\/leon-panetta-quotes-0113?src=rss\">witnessing first-paw<\/a> the CIA&#8217;s plans to hunt down Osama bin Laden, is <em>way<\/em> better at keeping secrets than disgraced former CIA chief David Petraeus, <a href=\"https:\/\/go.bloomberg.com\/political-capital\/2012-12-18\/panetta-says-his-dog-unlike-petraeus-proved-soul-of-discretion\/\">reports <em>Bloomberg<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Long known as <a href=\"https:\/\/security.blogs.cnn.com\/2012\/05\/25\/meet-bravo-the-most-powerful-dog-in-dc\/\">&#8220;the most powerful dog in DC&#8221;<\/a> (as opposed to the most powerful dog in the <em>world<\/em>, which would be Bo Obama), Bravo was privy to precise details of the Navy SEAL&#8217;s 2011 raid in Abbottabad. The auburn-furred dog, Panetta remarked at the National Press Club today, freely darted in and out of offices, including Panetta&#8217;s, where the raid was being planned, and &#8220;sat in on almost all of the meetings involving the operations against bin Laden.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Although actual human beings are responsible for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salon.com\/2012\/05\/23\/wh_leaks_for_propaganda_film\/\">leaking the details<\/a> of Osama bin Laden&#8217;s capture and death to the makers of <em>Zero Dark Thirty<\/em> (which comes out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rottentomatoes.com\/m\/zero_dark_thirty\/\">today<\/a>), blame has never, ever fallen on Bravo&#8217;s air-tight muzzle. Panetta: &#8220;To this day, [Bravo] hasn\u2019t told a damn soul what happened.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s <em>not<\/em> just because Bravo can&#8217;t speak because Bravo is a dog.
