Instead, owners considered this to be a normal expression of the dog&#8217;s breed and not a medical problem that should be addressed by veterinarians. <a href=\"https:\/\/r.smartbrief.com\/resp\/dEiGCertqOCdixnSCidbaFCicNuIWF?format=standard\" target=\"_blank\">PhysOrg.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p><small><a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/archive\/10-05-2012\/\">May 10, 2012<\/a> <\/small><\/p>\n<div id=\"news-content\"><!-- google_ad_section_start -->Owners of certain popular \u201cshort-nosed\u201d dog breeds, including Pugs, Bulldogs, Pekingese and French Bulldogs, are unknowingly putting their pets\u2019 welfare at risk and not seeking essential treatment because they consider their pets\u2019 signs of breathing difficulties to be \u2018normal\u2019 for that breed \u2013 so reveals a new study from the Royal Veterinary College, published on Thursday 10 May 2012 by the Universities Federation for Animal Welfare (UFAW) in their journal Animal Welfare.
