\/><\/p>\n<h2>What\u2019s Recalled?<\/h2>\n<p>The following\u00a0<strong>2-pound packaged varieties<\/strong>\u00a0are included in this recall:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coarse ground rabbit frozen raw pet food<\/li>\n<li>Coarse ground mallard duck frozen raw pet food<\/li>\n<li>Ground llama frozen raw pet food<\/li>\n<li>Ground pork frozen raw pet food<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Recalled product labels did not contain any lot identification, batch codes, or expiration dates.<\/p>\n<p>Products were packaged in 2-pound flattened, rectangular clear plastic packages and stored frozen.<\/p>\n<p>The front of each package contains one large white square label with the company name, product type and weight.<\/p>\n<h2>About Listeria<\/h2>\n<p>Listeria monocytogenes can affect animals eating the products and there is risk to humans from handling contaminated pet products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the products or any surfaces exposed to these products.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"highlight\">Listeria monocytogenes infections can cause\u00a0<strong>serious<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>sometimes fatal<\/strong>\u00a0infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea,\u00a0<span class=\"highlight\">Listeria infection can cause\u00a0<strong>miscarriages<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>stillbirths<\/strong>\u00a0among pregnant women.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Anyone experiencing these symptoms should immediately contact a health care provider.<\/p>\n<p>Pets with Listeria monocytogenes infections may be lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting.<\/p>\n<p>Some pets will have only decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain.<\/p>\n<p>Infected but otherwise healthy pets can be carriers and infect other animals or humans.<\/p>\n<p>If your pet has consumed the recalled product and has these symptoms, please contact your veterinarian.<\/p>\n<p>Recalled product labels did not contain any lot identification, batch codes, or expiration dates.
