The cubs were born in late May in a zoo at the October health resort in Sochi.<\/address>\n<address>\u00a0<\/address>\n<address>\u00a0<\/address>\n<address>\u00a0<\/address>\n<address>\u00a0<\/address>\n<p>MOSCOW \u2014 Two Siberian tiger cubs abandoned in Russia by their mother have found an unusual wet nurse \u2014 a wrinkled, sand-colored Shar Pei dog named Cleopatra, a zoo worker said Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The cubs were born late May in a zoo at the Oktyabrsky health resort in the Black Sea resort of Sochi.<\/p>\n<p>Zoo assistant director Viktoria Kudlayeva said the dog immediately gave the cubs all her attention.<\/p>\n<div>\n<article>\u201cShe accepted them right away,\u201d Kudlayeva said in a telephone interview. \u201cShe\u2019s cleaning them and breast feeding them as if they were her own. And they also sleep together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The cubs \u2014 named Clyopa, after their adopted mother, and Plyusha \u2014 are also being fed goat\u2019s milk.<\/p>\n<p>Kudlayeva said that the cubs pose no danger to the dog even though they are already showing their claws and hissing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey aren\u2019t aggressive and they depend on her for feeding,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Fewer than 400 Siberian tigers \u2014 also known as Ussuri, Amur or Manchurian tigers \u2014 have survived in the wild, most of them in Russia\u2019s Far East.<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From the Associated Press: In this picture taken, Monday, June 4, 2012, Shar Pei dog Cleopatra feeds two baby tigers in the Black Sea resort of Sochi, southern Russia.
