"He was a good kitty... No. He was a great kitty. He came to us from Los Feliz, a street rescue from the Sante Dór foundation, ever faithful. When he was adopted they named him for a hero, Mario Lemieux, the greatest hockey player of all time; and though he lived but a decade, his own life was no less heroic. No cat was more loving, or good at fetch, cuter or kinder. At home, many others came and went during his years of service, but he was always there to counsel his father in the dark times, and to celebrate the good times. He was the best little brother any cat could ask for, as he and Lynx were from the same mother and less than a year apart. He was the blood of the lion, and the dragon, but now his fire has gone out. He was Lemieux. We shall never see his like again... And now his watch is ended."
